One of the best things about roses is the fact that they are ideal to
convey virtually anything you wish to communicate, with no need for you
to utter a single sentence. If you were to go out on a social occasion
and wished to articulate that you'd like to stay simply as friends, a gift
of a bunch of pink or yellow
roses is one of the most pleasant ways to do it.
If a new baby has been born, you'd probably want to say your congratulations
differently to a work colleague than you'd do to your beloved wife on the
momentous time of bringing your cherished baby into this world. Just as
you'd express your feelings in distict ways to these different people,
you'd also send alternative flowers. For example you may give a small and

Going off on a slightly different tangent for a second, an interesting fact about pink roses is that in herbal medicine, if a hand full of pink rose petals are boiled, the resulting brew is purportedly a remedy for diarrhoea. I guess that's one example of their symbolic meanining of happiness.
Pink roses are also ideal for a bridal bouquet. Wedding flowers should
be light, cheerful and festive. Some people like gladiolas for weddings,
but these are very often also seen at funerals, which makes them appear
out of place at the happy celebratory time of a wedding.
Anyone who may have tried breeding hybrid roses will know that the amount
of pollen that rose types produce can vary greatly between different
breeds of roses. One particular type of garden flower, the light
pink Cecile Brunner rose is particularly interesting in that it produces
virtually no pollen. When creating a cross-breed, it may be necessary
for rose breeders to collect pollen from the stamens of often 30 or more
Cecile Brunner flowers to gather enough to make just one crossbreed.
This lack of pollen makes Cecile Brunner roses a decent choice for people
who find themselves allergic to pollen, and for weddings in general.
One thing you don't want is for your bridesmaids to begin snuffling and
sneezing just as the bride and groom are promising their wedding vows before
God and the assembled families and friends.
